Background

In line with the present development of information and communication technology (ICT), formal schools preparing for the Indonesian human resource needs, has set up ICT as one of the subject that is taught from elementary to high school. IPEKA International Christian School (IICS) is aware of the importance of ICT and communication as one area of study that will provide knowledge for the students in the development of technology in the era of globalisation. It is hoped IICS students will have sufficient knowledge and skills in the field of IT.

With the spirit, the will, and the skill, the students of IICS are encouraged to make a bi-annual program in the form of a computer competition for students of different schools. Through this program it is hoped that IICS could share and present knowledge and skills that will be worthwhile for Indonesian education, particularly in the field of IT and communication.

With this background and the support from the school, we have organized an event — ICC (IPEKA Computer Competition), a computer competition for the junior and senior high schools, and students of the same level in national and other schools that have been successful in previous years.

This event will succeed with the full support of many parties; the students, teachers and IPEKA staff, supporting schools and participants and related private and government enterprises.
